After 11 April, the separate collection of paper and cardboard in Gorinchem city centre will stop. Instead, there will be 15 locations with collection containers for paper and cardboard. As a result, paper and cardboard can soon be disposed of in the neighbourhood at any time. Together with the municipality of Gorinchem, we are taking a big step towards a cleaner and tidier city centre. Do you have any questions about this change? What does this mean?

On Friday 11 April, we will collect paper and cardboard separately for the last time. There are already underground paper containers on Boerenstraat, Groenmarkt, Heerenlaantje, Nonnenveld, Struisvogelstraat, Rond de Watertoren and Varkenmarkt. Eight more locations will be added.Residents can dispose of paper and cardboard for free at any time after 11 April at 15 locations in the neighbourhood. The environmental pass is not required.

Residents with a paper container can continue to use it. However, the collection day will change: from now on, we will empty it every first Tuesday of the month during the day, for the first time on 6 May. Those who do not have a container at home and would like one can apply for one free of charge.

Return or request paper container

Do you have a paper container at your property? You can continue to use it as usual. The collection day does change: from now on we will empty the paper container
every first Tuesday of the month during the day. The first time will be on Tuesday, May 6. Place your container at the presentation site before 7.30am.

Would you like to request a paper container? Don't have a paper container at your property yet, but want one? Mail to info@waardlanden.nl, then
we will deliver it to your home free of charge. The paper container is then emptied during the day every first Tuesday of the month.

Don't want your paper container anymore? Do you prefer to use the new collection containers in your neighbourhood? Have your container collected free of charge
by making an appointment via info@waardlanden.nl.

Why this change?

Many residents are increasingly separating their waste and raw materials. As a result, there is less residual waste and some underground residual waste containers can be used for paper and cardboard. Using (collection) containers is better for the environment. It prevents paper and cardboard from getting wet or blowing through the neighbourhood as litter. Dry and clean material can be recycled up to seven times. Also, collection after 6pm in the city centre is sometimes difficult due to the many parked cars.

We will gather at 09.30 at Partycentrum 't Hart, Nassaustraat 6 in Hardinxveld-Giessendam. After a cup of coffee or tea, we will set off in groups. We will clean the surroundings, beaches and floodplains. Due to the high water, there is plenty to tackle.

Around 11.30-12.00 am, we will conclude pleasantly with a delicious cup of soup at Party Centre 't Hart.
