For primary schools, Nature centre Gorinchem developed a special teaching package on sustainability and waste and raw materials. With this teaching package, pupils can work on sustainability and waste and resource separation in the classroom. With fun lessons and activities, they learn to (sub)separate different waste and raw material streams. And the children learn how waste and raw materials are recycled.
All primary schools around our communities have a treasure box to work with in class. Throughout the year, they can also receive free Reserve teaching boxes at Nature Centre Gorinchem. The teaching kits allow them to explore topics in more depth. With the project 'The waste-free school', schools take up the challenge of becoming completely waste-free. This can be done by separating as many raw materials as possible, such as paper and PMD, for recycling.
Treasury (basic package)
The treasure box contains waste and resource cards and starting materials to work with in the classroom. The cards provide information on the different waste and resource streams. The box also contains tips for fun lessons.

'The waste-free school' project
During this project, schools take on the challenge of becoming completely (residual) waste-free. All classes jointly - and sometimes among themselves! - the battle with waste. Separating more raw materials means less residual waste. Central questions include:
- How much waste and raw materials do we produce as a class?
- What types of waste and raw materials can we distinguish?
- Which raw materials can we separate to reduce residual waste?
- How can our raw materials be reused?
