Bulky waste consists of large items from your home that do not fit in the container. Examples include a sofa, table, or broken chair. You can have a maximum of 1 cubic meter of bulky waste collected per appointment.
Do you live in Gorinchem, Hardinxveld-Giessendam, or Molenlanden? Then you pay €40,00 per cubic meter. You pay directly via iDEAL/Wero when you make the appointment. Residents of Vijfheerenlanden do not pay separately for the collection of bulky waste.
What can you do with bulky waste?
- Does it still work? Then sell it, give it away, or take it to the cycle.
- Is it broken? Have it repaired at a workshop of repair café, have your old or broken appliance taken away by the supplier delivering your new appliance, or take it to the recycling center with your environmental pass.

Due to the high demand for bulky waste collection, the waiting time may currently be longer than you are used to. When making an appointment, you will see when we can collect the bulky waste from you.
Is this date too late for you?
Then take your bulky waste to the recycling center yourself with your environmental pass. Does the bulky waste not fit in your car? You can get a free trailer from Waardlanden use. You may borrow the trailer for a maximum of two hours. This makes clearing out and taking it to the recycling center easier. Check the opening hours and conditions in advance.
This is how you properly dispose of bulky waste.
Read the terms and conditions carefully before making an appointment. This will prevent us from being unable to take away your bulky waste.
- Only put the bulky waste outside on the agreed day before 7:30 AM.
- Ensure that our collection vehicle can access it properly and safely.
- Do not place bulky waste behind trees, cars, or lampposts, and not too close to parked vehicles.
- Do not place bulky waste on your own property.
- Do not place bulky waste next to a collection container. It is not allowed, and the cleanup costs per violation are high (€206,50).
- Bundle loose items securely by type.
- A bundle may be a maximum of 1,5 meters long and weigh 25 kilograms.
- Set aside metal items (scrap metal) and electrical appliances.
- You can drop off a maximum of 1 cubic meter of bulky waste per appointment.
- This way, our driver can take it away easily and quickly, and together we keep the neighborhood safe, tidy, and clean.
What don't we collect?
We do not pick up the following items and materials from your home:
- batteries and car tires;
- asphalt;
- construction and demolition waste, such as plasterboard, bricks, rubble, and roofing felt;
- impregnated wood, such as fences, posts, and sleepers;
- wooden pallets;
- asbestos;
- small chemical waste, such as oil and paint;
- glass, mirrors and sanitary ware;
- pruning and garden waste;
- textile;
- filled bags or boxes whose contents we cannot see.
