Small chemical waste (SCW) is household waste containing hazardous or chemical substances. These are harmful to health and the environment. Think of chemical substances that are toxic, flammable, or corrosive. You can recognize hazardous waste by a hazard symbol on the packaging.

Where do you hand in hazardous waste?

Always hand in hazardous waste separately at:

Never dispose of hazardous waste with residual waste. This way, together we ensure that hazardous waste can be processed safely.

Please note: explosives, such as fireworks or ammunition, are not allowed at the recycling center. If you come across them, always call the police.

Offer terms and tips 

  • Hand in hazardous waste to the manager of the recycling center.
  • Leave products in their original packaging.
  • Jars or other packaging must be tightly closed. They must also have a sticker indicating which substance is in the jar.

Good to Know

  • You can also hand in batteries at all shops and companies that sell (products containing) batteries.
  • You can also hand in energy-saving bulbs, LED bulbs, and fluorescent bulbs in special bins at various shops and hardware stores.
  • You can also return medicines to the pharmacy.
