What does not belong in Styrofoam?

  • Styrofoam never belongs in the pmd (plastic packaging, metal, cans and beverage cartons).
  • Contaminated polystyrene, such as meat trays, is part of the residual waste.
  • Small pieces of polystyrene may be included residual waste.
  • Styrofoam used as insulation material is often treated with a flame retardant. Therefore, this is part of the bulky household waste.
