A tariff for bulky household waste has proven effective in reducing incinerable bulky household waste. With a tariff on bulky waste, we encourage residents to sort their bulky waste, disassemble it at home, and take it to a recycling center. Many materials can be reused. Better for the environment and your wallet.

Taking bulky waste to the recycling center

You are very welcome at our recycling centers with a environmental passYou cannot visit the recycling center without a pass. For a small quantity of waste, you can pay directly at the gate with one of our staff members. This is only possible by card, which is safer.

A lot of bulky waste, construction waste, and bulky garden waste comes from a small group of people. It's expensive to have this processed. That's why people who bring this type of waste pay the costs themselves. This keeps things fair and helps us keep costs as low as possible for other residents.

Do you live in the municipality of Gorinchem, Hardinxveld-Giessendam or Molenlanden? Then you can dispose of this waste return for free three times a yearAfter that, a rate applies. Residents of Vijfheerenlanden do not have to pay separately; the municipality will decide on that later.

Bring free stuff and materials

You can dispose of the following items and materials separately at the recycling center as often as you like. You don't need to pay for them separately.

Bulky waste that residents have collected at home is residual waste and is incinerated. This is unfortunate, because bulky household waste contains many valuable materials that can be reused. By charging a fee for this bulky waste collection service, the municipalities encourage residents to sort their bulky household waste, disassemble it at home, and dispose of it separately at the recycling center. This reduces the amount of incineration required, and allows for more recycling. This way, we ensure more circular and sustainable waste management in the region.
