Working at Waardlanden

Do you want to do work that matters? At Waardlanden, you'll contribute to a clean and livable region for thousands of residents. Whether you work outdoors or in the office, together we make a difference.

We do this with colleagues in various roles, all with the same goal. Outside on our vehicles, in the neighborhood or at the recycling center, in our workshop, or from the office. Together, we ensure a clean living environment in our region.

Together we make the difference

With a team of over 110 employees, we handle the daily waste and raw material collection for the municipalities of Gorinchem, Hardinxveld-Giessendam, Molenlanden, and Vijfheerenlanden. Our work is visible and important. Residents count on us. That's why we do our work with pride, expertise, and care for each other.

Our vacancies

There are currently no vacancies. This page is regularly updated with new vacancies.

Good work starts with good employers

At Waardlanden, we believe it's important that our employees can work comfortably and healthily. We highly value a socially responsible HR policy. We offer our employees collective and supplementary health insurance, as well as disability insurance. And thanks to a generational pact, older employees are given the opportunity to reduce their working hours sooner. These are employment benefits that our colleagues highly value.

Vacancies via WerkTalent

For some of our vacancies, we partner with the employment agency WerkTalent. Through WerkTalent, you can work at Waardlanden as a temporary worker. View the vacancies that WerkTalent currently has available for Waardlanden.

New raw materials policy

Waardlanden is a socially responsible cleaning company. We work daily to help residents in the municipalities of Gorinchem, Hardinxveld-Giessendam, Molenlanden, and Vijfheerenlanden keep discarded products and materials available for reuse and recycling as effectively as possible. We do this by offering various options and services for separating waste and raw materials. Our priorities are sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

Towards a new waste and raw materials policy

"Together for a waste-free and clean municipality" is the title of the new waste and raw materials policy plan. The title indicates the central goal that Waardlanden and the municipalities intend to work towards in the coming years. The plan outlines the strategy and measures that should lead to increased and better separation of reusable waste (raw materials) and a reduction in residual waste. It also leads to a cleaner municipality.

  • Strategy Note 2021-2025, Together for a waste-free and clean municipality

To support the chosen strategy and measures, a scenario study was conducted, a catalogue of measures was drawn up, and a vision document for the recycling centers was drawn up.

  • Scenario study for future collection systems in Waardlanden municipalities
  • Possible measures for new waste and raw materials policy in Waardlanden municipalities
  • Vision document, A different view of the recycling centers of Waardlanden

The municipal executive boards of the Waardlanden municipalities adopted the plan and other reports in early April 2021. The boards will submit the plan to the municipal councils.

What do residents think?

Residents were actively involved in the development of the new waste and raw materials policy. Their wishes, motivations, and experiences were assessed in a resident survey in the spring of 2020. This survey yielded valuable suggestions. We supplemented these suggestions with our own suggestions and potential measures, and presented them again in a second resident survey in early 2021.

More places to drop off textiles in the neighborhood

07-05-2026 More places to drop off textiles in the neighborhood
Additional textile containers are being placed at eight locations in the Waardlanden region. At these sites, an underground residual waste container is being replaced by a textile container. This makes it even easier for you to drop off clothing and textiles separately, close to home. You do not need your environmental pass for this.
