It is Safety Week. Therefore, there is an extra focus on container presentation rules to ensure safe and smooth waste collection. You can help by putting your container on the road in the right way.
Supply rules containers
Follow the offer rules below to ensure a safe and clean neighbourhood together.
Use rubbish bags
Put your waste in a transparent rubbish bag and tie it tightly before throwing it in the pmd or residual waste container. Use special compostable bags to collect your GFT waste. This will prevent light and loose materials from blowing away when emptied and ending up on the street.
Before 07.30 on presentation site
Place your container on the collection day before 7.30am at the delivery point.
Opening to the road
Place your container with the opening facing the road. Then the valve opening will fall back closed after the container is emptied and no waste will end up on the street.
At least 50 cm away from obstacles
Place your container at least 50 centimetres away from lampposts, bollards, trees and parked cars. This prevents damage and makes containers easier to empty.
Keep the passage clear
Do not put your container behind parked cars or park cars in front of the container location. This ensures free passage for the collection truck.
Container valve closed and maximum 80 kg
The lid of your container must be closed and the container must not weigh more than 80 kilos. If the container is too heavy, the collection truck's system blocks and the container cannot be emptied. It also prevents waste from falling next to the container.
No loose items
Don't put anything next to the container. It is not allowed, it creates mess and is dangerous.
Remove container from the road as soon as possible after emptying
Remove your emptied container from public roads as soon as possible. This will prevent unsafe situations and nuisance in your neighbourhood.
Thank you for your cooperation!
